It’s something that nobody wants to think about but if the worst happens during your stay in York and you’re taken ill it’s reassuring to know that you have access to some good facilities.

For emergencies the A & E Department of York District Hospital is located at Wigginton Road, York. The phone number is: 01904 631313.

Visitors can receive advice, information and treatment without having to make an appointment at the NHS Walk In Centre. The centre doesn’t replace a GP or hospital service but complements existing local services. The centre is centrally located at Monkgate and is open Monday to Sunday, 7am-10:00pm.
