to staying outside of the city walls. For some real fun check out The Bay Horse [map], Gillygate, which has gained a reputation as York’s premier gay pub. Offering great meals during the day and a quiet pint in the afternoon, The Bay Horse comes alive in the evening with great alcoholic deals and some of York’s more colourful characters in attendance. The disco takes place in the basement bar, which is an intimate venue away from the crowds of the city centre.
