York citizens love
their football and even though York City might not be the best team in the world supporters continue
their loyalty to it. The York and District Leeper Hare Football League was founded in 1897 and today the league has more than 50 clubs covering the whole of York. Ladies are not left forgotten with The Connexions York Girls Team competing in three different leagues. Girls who are resident in the City can compete in the following leagues: under 12s, under 14s and under 16s. There’s also the York City Ladies team who play, and often win, in the Yorkshire and Humberside League Premier Division. |
