If you’re
planning a day visit to York get yourself a York Pass from all good libraries. The York Pass gets you into a
range of attractions for free or at a reduced price and

The York Barbican [map],
Barbican Road, is the ideal place for all your entertainment
needs. Not only does it have two great pools and a fitness
suite it’s also the last name in comedy and music
with a range of internationally famous faces performing
here including the likes of Jamie Cullum and Mis-teeq.
There’s several great cinemas including City
Screen [map],
Coney Street, for those more unusual films and Vue [map] at Clifton Moor which is a huge cinema village offering
all the latest blockbusters.
If you like your cinema surroundings traditional check
out The Odeon [map],
The Mount, one of the few remaining Odeon’s that
still has all its original fixtures and fittings. This
is a real visitor attraction and offers a brilliant trip
down memory lane.
The York Theatre [map],
at St Leonard’s Place, is a great place for new
and touring productions. Discover stars of the future
or see celebrities live on stage.
Alternatively, if you want something lively check out Fibbers [map],
The Stonebow, for a range of live up-and-coming artists
and internationally famous acoustic performers. There’s
also a great café bar if you’re feeling peckish.
