GO Car & Motorcycle

You can get to York quickly from the UK motorway network. Travelling north on the M1 or A1 you'll come to the A64 intersection. The city is 15 minutes away via dual carriageway.

Travelling south on the A1, you'll also leave the motorway at the A64.
From the west on the M62, join the M1 northbound until you reach the intersection with the A64.

York is also served by the A19, A1079 and A166 routes into the city.
There are several good park and ride sites on the outskirts of the city and this is particularly useful as car parks are usually full and there’s no other parking spaces in the city centre. Plus a large percentage of the area is pedestrianised.
