The easiest way
to get around West London is to use the tube.
The last tube leaves main underground stations at approximately
12.30am Monday to Sunday. To be sure check the “first
and last time trains” poster displayed in the station
ticket hall or ask a member of staff.
Most buses run to around midnight and
then a night bus takes over. Most late night buses leave
Trafalgar Square or Piccadilly Circus at midnight and
run at intervals throughout the night. Buses can take
you from West London to most other locations in Greater
London.
If you’re thinking of catching a cab after a night
out and haven’t pre-booked one, go for a London
licensed black cab and be sure to check that
the driver has identification – which usually takes
the form of a credit card sized photo ID.
National Rail Enquiries on 08457 484950
(24 hours) provide information for all rail services throughout
Great Britain. Please check train times before departing
as last trains leave central London Rail stations from
10.30pm to 1.00am.
If you are thinking of driving into West London
it is worth remembering that the area of West London close
to Soho and the West End has a great number of parking
meters and most of these areas are subject to the £8
congestion charge zone. Most Londoners in this area prefer
to leave the car at home.
Those planning a big night out to a West End theatre might
like to take advantage of the MasterPark Theatreland
Parking Scheme. This gives you an incredible
50 per cent off parking when you are visiting the theatre
within a selected area.
These areas include China Town, Leicester Square, Park
Lane, Pimlico and Soho.
To qualify, simply get your car park ticket stamped at
the theatre and present it with your theatre ticket stub
(dated the same day) and vehicle registration number to
the cashier at the time of payment. You may park for an
unlimited period and receive a 50% discount off the standard
casual rate. |
