Stratford-Upon-Avon
has plenty of activities to keep little minds and bodies
active.
On first looking at the town centre youngsters might feel
that they’ve stepped into a toy town full of tiny
little houses and it’s true that the Tudor and Jacobean
architecture does give the whole area a “miniature”
feeling.
Whilst youngsters might grow tired of the many Shakespeare-themed
tourist attractions they’ll still find plenty elsewhere
to engage their interest.
If you’re visiting Stratford-Upon-Avon during the
spring or summer and the weather is fine, why not head
to the beautiful Broadway Tower Country Park [map].
There’s plenty to do here including climbing the
tower to look out across the rooftops of Stratford-Upon-Avon,
help to feed the animals at the children’s farm or look out for wildlife in the red deer enclosure.
Bring your own food for a picnic in delightful surroundings
or head to the Rookery Barn Restaurant [map] for an extra
treat.
Prove to your children that there are cars out there older
than the Mini Micra by visiting the Heritage Motor
Centre [map] in Gaydo. This centre is home to the largest collection
of historic British cars anywhere in the world.
Have a look at some vintage and classic cars from a bygone
era and enjoy the special events that take place
throughout the year.
Very young children will be in teddy heaven with a visit
to the Teddy Bear Museum [map] on Greenhill Street. You’ll be met at the door by
an enormous teddy bear sentry and from here you
can explore the teddy bear museum and gift shop where
you can pick up a few bear-related treats.
