Find your ideal
retreat and get away from the hustle and bustle of the
crowds of Stratford by choosing to base yourself in one
of the beautiful villages nearby.
The Grange [map] in Long Marston is a Grade II listed building that dates
back to 1590. It is complemented by original features including beams, stone hearths and inglenooks to create
an attractive hotel that includes a health and beauty
salon.
The luxurious bedrooms here come with pure cotton linen
and fluffy bathrobes and make for a perfectly romantic
retreat.
Another beautiful location for your retreat is Pear
Cottage [map] in Wilmcote, which is as close to Shakespearean splendour
as one can get. This half-stone, half-timber listed building
is set in a large country garden that overlooks Mary Arden’s
house (Shakespeare’s mother). The cottage is filled
with character including architectural features such
as oak beams and traditional windows, as well as antique
furnishings.
Try life in rural bliss at Burton Farm [map],
which is a working farm set in 140 acres. The farmhouse
and its surrounding buildings date back to Tudor times.
Being a guest at the farm you can see it in its working
condition and perhaps assist with the milking of baby
goats or lambs. Children will particularly enjoy the experience
and might even learn about agriculture too.
