Kids & Families in South West London |
 |
 |
The south west
is a really family friendly area of London and has plenty
of open spaces in which you can enjoy some traditional
activities such as kite flying or taking the remote control
boat out on the lake.
If your child is full of energy and a scenic picnic won't
be enough to keep them entertained there are plenty of
theatres that offer programmes directed specifically at
children. Choose from The Colour House at Merton
Abbey Mills, Polka Theatre, Charles Cryer Studio
Theatre in Carshalton, or The Secombe Theatre in Sutton.
Waterbabies will find all they need at several open-air
pools including The Hampton Pool, Tooting
Bec Lido [map] and the Richmond Lido.
With Wimbledon at the very heart of South West London
perhaps your child has aspirations to be the next Tim
Henman. If this is the case the UK’s top tennis
school can be found in Sutton. The Sutton Junior
Tennis Centre offers excellent coaching for
tots to teens.
Children will love the opportunity to get amongst the
rare fishes and sea creatures at the Morden
Hall Park Aquarium. Offering a vast variety
of colourful marine life the tanks are perfectly located
at child eye level.
If your youngsters are keen to explore ecology further
check out The Royal Botanic Gardens [map] at Kew. Children will have the chance to get involved
in some hands on gardening.
