Vegetarian In South West London |

With the range and
choice of vegetarian and vegan
restaurants on offer there’s no excuse
for being fobbed off with a one-option menu. In fact,
the range of exotic cuisine is enough to tempt even
the most ardent meat eater through the doors.
The Milan Vegetarian Restaurant [map],
Upper Tooting Road, offers a wide selection of Gujarati and South Indian cuisine and there’s a separate
menu for vegans too.
Alternatively head to Woodlands Panton Street [map],
Panton Street, for a range of South Indian vegan
and vegetarian cuisine.
If you’re dining with meat-eating friends but don’t
want to compromise your own needs book a table at The
City Café [map],
John Islip Street.
This award-winning restaurant overlooks Side Street, which
is a work of art linking John Islip Street to Millbank.
This stunning view makes eating here a real treat and
head chef Edward Bleackley’s innovative menu
combines the very best vegetarian cuisine with Modern
European a la carte.
Combine your eating with a musical interlude at The
Tea Rooms des Artistes [map],
Wandsworth Road, which is an excellent bohemian café
offering al fresco dining and summer jazz concerts.
The Shahee Bhelpoori [map] vegetarian and vegan restaurant
is located at London Road, and is just across the road
from the Norbury Rail Station. Offering a range of veggie
and vegan cuisine each dish on the menu is listed clearly
to indicate which has dairy products in it. Dishes are spiced to your own taste and children are offered
a separate menu to avoid very hot dishes.
Head over to Brixton to one of the locals most popular
restaurants. Café Pushkar [map],
Market Row, Coldharbour Lane, is a dedicated vegetarian
restaurant offering delicious organic fayre home-cooked
on the premises. Children and babies are particularly
welcome here and there’s good wheelchair access.
Take time out of your shopping expedition to visit The
Wholemeal Vegetarian Café [map],
Shrubbery Road, which offers an excellent range of tea,
coffee, snacks and sandwiches. There’s also a range
of cuisine on offer including firm favourites such as
nut roast, vegetable curries and pasties.
