rely on the British weather so thank goodness for shopping
malls.
If you’re looking for a great place to spend
a day with crèche facilities and free parking
on hand a mall is the perfect solution.
The Putney Exchange Shopping Centre [map], High Street,
is a light and bright shopping centre which particularly
appeals to the female shopper. Choose from a selection
of high street fashion outlets including Next, River Island and Monsoon. There’s
a large selection of bookshops and those looking to chill
out will find a number of popular coffee shops.
If you’re looking for independent shops there’s
also plenty here to tempt you, particularly furniture
shops that combine contemporary with global
designs including the popular Khazana [map] shop that offers a good selection of unusual furnishings.
Head to one of London’s most famous streets The
King’s Road [map] and check out The King’s Walk Shopping Mall.
Here you’ll find a range of excellent independent
shops and familiar high street brands including Octopus for new fashions for both yourself and the home as well
as bookshops and coffee shops. There’s also some
excellent restaurants so that shoppers can spend a full
day in the area and enjoy a relaxing bite to eat.
There are a number of smaller malls handily located for
transport. One of the best is Fulham Broadway [map],
Fulham Road. This mall actually houses the new tube station
so it’s particularly accessible. You’ll also
find bookshops and music stores as well as great eateries
and a huge cinema showing the latest blockbusters
and giving a welcome break from retail therapy.
If the weather is picking up, Borough Parade [map] is a delightful, open-air shopping centre situated in
the heart of Chippenham. Nestled on the banks of the
beautiful River Avon, the fabulous setting, and single
level, fully pedestrianised centre mean that it is accessible
to everyone.
With a wide selection of stores, Borough Parade stocks
everything from cards to casual wear, shoes to spectacles
and music to mobile phones - Borough Parade really is
shopping with a breath of fresh air. Borough Parade
