Gay Bars in South West London |
 |
 |
Whatever your scene
South West London has a variety of excellent bars in
which to enjoy a great night out.
The Brewery Tap [map],
Lingham Street, Stockwell, is in the heart of the gay
community and is a gay owned and run pub which offers
a great atmosphere to a mixed crowd. Join in the fun at weekly quizzes and karaoke. There’s
also women-only nights and drag acts appear
occasionally. With drink promotions every night and barbeques
during the summer this really is a pub that caters for
all your needs and offers something different every night
of the week.
If you want a night out with your straight friends head
to the Marquis of Lorne [map] which is a chilled out pub located at Haydons Road, which
welcomes a mixed clientele. It’s located close to
Wimbledon and there’s a tube station practically
across the street.
Combine your night out with some great bar snacks at Ah
Bar [map],
Brixton Hill. Close to The Clapham Common tube station,
The Ah Bar also does a mean breakfast for those feeling
slightly hung-over the morning after.
It’s rare to find a pub with as great an atmosphere
as you’ll discover if you step through the doors
of the Buzz Bar [map],
Battersea High Street. Playing a great selection of music
and with a generally funky vibe Buzz is a mixed clientele
bar that knows how to party.
If you’re tired of the cruising and boozing scene
head to Kazbar [map],
Clapham High Street, which has an excellent video bar
that’s frequented by the youngest and coolest customers.
Those who prefer to have a thumping evening of high adrenaline
should get themselves to Two Brewers [map],
Clapham High Street, which has a gigantic dance floor.
This is the perfect place for a rowdy evening out with
a few mates and there’s plenty of great cheesy pop
music to get the party started in style. There’s
also a nightly drag show in what must surely be
one of England’s liveliest bars.
