South West London is
a fascinating area of London perfect for those keen
to be entertained but still maintains close links with
a regal and very British past.
In SW1 you’ll find two of the most impressive
buildings in the UK: Buckingham Palace [map] and The Palace of Westminster [map] where
the Houses of Parliament [map] and House
of Lords [map] are located.
The chic districts of Chelsea [map] and Belgravia are perfect for those in
search of some retail therapy or to enjoy lunch and dinner in one of London’s
premier five star restaurants.

toy store Hamley’s are the perfect
place to take the young and young at heart, and the
nearby Covent Garden [map] is where you’ll
find a range of unusual goods and gift ideas.
Excellent hotels can
also be found in this area and this is the place to
be for stunning views across St James’
Park [map] or the swinging King’s Road [map].
Sporty types will enjoy a location close to Chelsea
FC football ground and Wimbledon’s [map] centre court. Stay in Wimbledon and visit one of its
popular museums including Cannizaro House [map] and The Wimbledon Windmill [map].
Get a flavour for ragga beats and exotic food by paying
a visit to Brixton [map], home to London’s
largest Afro-Caribbean community. Check out the market
for ethnic and unique goods or pay a visit to the famous Fridge night club or The Brixton
Academy [map] for live music from some of the UK’s
most influential bands.
Battersea [map] is dotted with coffee shops,
fine restaurants and museums and art galleries. Visit
the famous Battersea Dog’s Home [map] to see how this charity has developed over the years
or pop over to Clapham [map] for some funky bars and night
clubs.
Victoria [map] and Pimlico [map] offer great rail links and Pimlico is a real up-and-coming area offering a wealth of evening entertainment and reflecting the vibrant culture that prevails through
much of South West London.
