Takeaway in Sheffield |
 |
 |
If
you live in or around Sheffield you’ll find there’s
a huge choice of takeaway and delivery restaurants, possibly
due to the large student population in the area. However
here are some suggestions of a few to start with.
Curry is one of the UK’s favourite takeaway options
and at Bilash [map] on Sharrow Road you can get some of the best in the area.
Here you’ll find tasty curries that will
not only satisfy tastebuds but the cost should put a smile
on your face as well. Bilash has been open since 1986
and has developed a menu that includes all the curries
you’ve come to know and love as well as a decent vegetarian selection. Delivery is available, which
is free if you live within a few miles of the restaurant.
Other curry options in Sheffield include Nirmals [map],
the awarding winning curry house on Glossop Road,
and the student hotspot Balti King [map] on Fulwood Road, where actor Sean Bean is reported to
have eaten.
For Chinese food, New Zing Vaa [map] is certainly
worth a try. This restaurant is takeaway only but has
a great range of Chinese dishes on offer that makes
it worth the trip. Choose from Chinese curries to succulent
ribs and there’s also several vegetarian options
for those non meat eaters in your household.
If you really can’t manage to leave the house for
your Chinese food, then you could try Red Ruby [map],
which offers a delivery service. All you need to do is
pick up the phone and ask for your favourite Chinese meal
and it should be with you before you know it.
Pizza is another great takeaway food that you can enjoy
while catching up on your soaps of an evening. Sheffield
does have its own Domino’s Pizza [map] on Eccleshall Road, but if you’re looking for
a little local flavour you could try Vitalo [map] in Hillsborough, Chubby’s [map] in the city centre
and Kebab House [map] on Abbeydale Road. However these venues also cater for
the kebab hunter and occasionally the burger buff as well,
so it may be well worth keeping at least one of these
eateries on speed dial if you plan to abandon the cooking
for good!
And for a good old fish and chip supper you can try Greystones
Fish Bar [map], which is open until 11.30pm on weeknights
and serves some decent portions. Also worth trying is Broomhill Friery [map] or the Grand Potato [map] on Abbeydale Road.
