Guesthouses in Sheffield |

There are many
reasons why people opt for guest house accommodation over
traditional hotels. Sometimes it's for the cosy, friendly
atmosphere, sometimes it has to do with budget, however
some canny travellers know that by staying with the locals,
they’ll get an insider's view of the city. Whatever
your reasons for choosing a guest house, there should
be one in Sheffield to suit.
Martins Guest House [map] is a converted Victorian
mansion set in its own grounds. It has all the hallmarks
of a decent bed and breakfast; en suite bedrooms complete
with colour TV, private parking and a variety of rooms
to suit families and groups as well as those travelling
alone. It’s also not far from the local attractions
and distractions.
Psalter House [map] has also been converted from an Edwardian home into a
local guest house that’s retained some of its historic
character. This four-diamond accommodation offers
twin, double or family rooms with en suite or use of a
private bathroom, and breakfast is served every morning
with a vegetarian option for non-meat eaters. This
is accommodation that the whole family can enjoy, as children
over four-years-old and pets are welcome.
An alternative four-diamond accommodation option is Loadbrook
Cottages [map]. Here you’ll find a far more rural
feel as the residence is surrounded by fields and
a small lake. Located on the west border of Sheffield
this accommodation is ideal for those who like to walk,
climb, cycle or generally enjoy the outdoors, without
being too far from Sheffield city centre. All the rooms
here have en suite facilities and children and pets are
welcome.
Whirlow Park Guest House [map] also offers guests a rural location for their
accommodation. Although the guest house is surrounded
by woods and private gardens, it is only a few minutes
from restaurants and pubs, so you won’t feel too
remote. This accommodation is open all year round except
for Christmas and New Year, so whenever you feel the need
for a rural getaway, you can book your room and breakfast
here.
If budget is your main concern then you could try the Coniston Guest House [map] in Hillsborough.
They offer a friendly and affordable place to stay
with the added bonus of a private car park. All rooms
are equipped with washing facilities, tea/coffee making
facilities, colour TV, hair dryers, trouser press and
iron, and guests can choose either a single, double or
twin room. A ground floor bedroom is also available.
If you want to be within easy reach of the Sheffield action
you should consider Parkland Guest House [map].
Located close to the university with good transport links
to the local attractions and the Peak District, this guest
house could be the perfect spot for you. The accommodation
itself has three diamonds from the English Tourist
Board and all the rooms are en suite. Although there are
no private parking facilities, children and pets are
welcome.
