Comedy In Sheffield |
 |
 |
Laughter is a universal language which is regularly spoken
in Sheffield, so when you want an evening of titters and
roars, check out the comedy events in Sheffield.
The Last Laugh Comedy Club [map] is Yorkshire’s
longest running comedy venue and it's this reputation
which has helped the club attract some of the best comedy
acts around. Johnny Vegas, Ross Noble and Perrier Award
winner Daniel Kitson have all performed at the club and
the event promises a laughter filled evening.
The shows are held at the Lescar Hotel [map] on Sharrow
Road, every Thursday night at 9pm, where you can enjoy
a pint (or two) and some great comedy. However you are
advised to book in advance as this event regularly sells
out.
You could find an alternative venue for your laughter
fix at the sophisticated Caper Club [map]. Here
you can expect some of the best acts on the comedy circuit
to perform every first Wednesday of the month.
While the comedy here may be exactly what you’d
expect, the venue may knock you for six, as instead of
being a cosy pub, it is actually held at one of the coolest
bar restaurants in the area, Takapuna on West Street.
But don’t worry you can still enjoy your regular
beverage to accompany the comedy – only here waitresses
will save you the trip to the bar.
For comedy drama and the occasional stand-up performance
keep an eye on what’s on at the Crucible Theatre [map] and the Lyceum Theatre [map] . Each season these venues
usually include a rib tickling performance of some description.
