Sheffield is located in South Yorkshire within easy reach of several major towns and cities because it is also well linked to the UK road network.
The major north-south motorway, the M1, runs very close to Sheffield, just come off at Junction 33 for a direct route into the city centre. There’s also straightforward routes to Sheffield using the M62, A1, and M18.
As with most UK cities, Sheffield can get very congested especially during rush hour when people are coming to and from work, so if you can avoid travelling between 7:00am-9:00am and 4:00pm-6:00pm your journey should be a little easier.
Taking your car into the city centre is certainly an option, especially if you know where you’re going and where you will park, however the city has been trying to solve its congestion problems by opening the Supertram System. There are also several park and ride schemes in operation to ensure that drivers have a safe place to park their car and the city isn’t too congested. |
