Live Music in Plymouth |
 |
 |
If you’re looking for an evening of live music then
you’ll be spoilt for choice in Plymouth as the city
offers a great mix of rock, pop, jazz, classical and easy
listening.
To catch a glimpse of some of the biggest names in the
music industry, get along to the Plymouth Pavilion
[map] on Millbay Road, a large versatile arena with seating
for 3,000 people. Here you can watch the like of Jools
Holland, Bootleg Beatles, Gabrielle, Human League and
Daniel Bedingfield belt out their hits, as well as enjoy
the orchestras and operas that also appear here regularly.
If you want to hear great rock and Irish folk music in
a more intimate environment check out Kitty O’Hanlon’s
[map] on St Andrew's Street, where a variety of musical instruments,
including a piano, hang from the ceiling! Live music blasts
out here every Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday night when local bands take to the small stage.
Next up is China House [map] on Sutton Harbour where you hear live music on Friday
evenings, while the Thistle Park Tavern [map] in the Coxside area of Plymouth, plays host to the Maritime Music Festival and has live music every
weekend.
Other venues worth visiting are The Maritime [map] on Southside Street, which has rock, pop and folk music
most evenings, and Plymouth Guildhall [map] on Royal Parade, where you can hear some great classical
music by local and national orchestras.
