grass football pitches, a number all-weather pitches,
and a Coca Cola Championship side to choose from, Plymouth
has plenty to offer today’s footy fans. If you want a friendly five-a-side or even 11-a-side game then check out the facilities at Brickfields Recreation Ground [map], which has both an adult’s and junior’s grass pitch. Also worth a look is the Manadon Football Development Centre [map], where you’ll find a floodlit all-weather pitch that has been recently refurbished in partnership with FIFA to give the people of Plymouth a top class community football venue. For those who just want a casual kick about with family and friends there are numerous public parks in Plymouth offering plenty of space for you to enjoy a game of soccer. Among them is Central Park [map] in the Milehouse area of the city. Along with a couple of football pitches, the park also boasts a small golf course, picturesque gardens and children’s playgrounds. The city’s professional team is Plymouth Argyle FC, which currently plays in the newly formed Coca Cola Championship league alongside the likes of Leeds United and Crystal Palace.
