Whether you want to sit back and watch some of the best
dancers in the business or fancy donning your own dance
shoes, there’s a venue in Plymouth to suit you.
For classical ballet and musicals get along to
the city’s Theatre Royal [map],
which plays host to a number of national touring productions
throughout the year.
Alternatively for contemporary dance, try the Barbican
Theatre [map] as it stages a great selection of new and well known dance
productions.
Other theatres worth checking out if you want to watch
dancers in action include the Plymouth Pavilion [map] and the Drum Theatre [map].
There are also a number of dance schools, where
you can learn ballet, tap, modern, jazz and ballroom,
to name but a few.
For traditional ballet and tap try the Premier
Dance Centre [map],
or the Dance Factory [map],
which also offers classes in modern, jazz and lyrical
dance.
If you fancy learning salsa dancing then join up
for lessons at Tanner-J Dance Zone [map] in Devonport , where you can also learn the tango
and rock ‘n’ roll.
