Buses
in Oxford are reliable and speedy. There are services
that cover every part of the area and some go further
into Oxfordshire and to other cities.
Oxford’s park and ride facilities invite
you to leave your car in a safe and free car park on the
edge of the city and hop on a modern bus which will then
take you, for a small fare, into the heart of the city
centre. Buses run frequently and are a good
way of getting around.
The park and ride facilities can be found at Seacourt on Botley Road; Pear Tree, off the A34 Stratford Road; Thornhill, just beyond the Ring Road on the A40
London Road; and Redbridge, between the Ring Road
turn-offs for the A34 south to Abingdon and the A423 to
Henley.
There are also frequent, reliable and well-used coach
services to central London and London airports, operated
by Stagecoach and the Oxford Bus Company.
Gloucester Green is the main departure point for National Express coaches that travel to London
and other parts of the country. Situated in the centre
of the city, just off George Street, it is now part of
a shopping area and has good facilities within easy walking
distance.
