training than at the National Water Sports Centre [map] in Nottingham. Situated in 270 acres of parkland on the River Trent, just outside the city centre, this place has some of the best water sports facilities on the planet. Among the highlights are a 2,000-metre regatta lake, canoe slalom course, water ski lagoon and ski tow, and a multi-purpose sports hall, making this centre a training haven for the country’s leading water sportsmen and women. The main water-based governing bodies, including the Amateur Rowing Association, British Canoe Union, and British Water Ski, all have a base at the centre and make regular use of the facilities. In addition to this, the centre plays host to a number of events throughout the year, which are well worth checking out if you’re a water sports fan. These include a number of canoeing events such as the Olympic Slalom Selection race, the National Sprint Regatta and the Nottingham City Regatta. As well as providing a base for athletes to train and an arena for leading championships, the National Water Sports Centre also offers a unique team building experience for any organisation.
