If you’re tired of the usual foods that restaurants have to
offer then why not make the most of your trip to Nottingham by trying
something a little different.
You can find everything from Japanese and Thai to Portuguese and
Caribbean here, so read on to find out more.
For starters, Nottingham is packed to bursting with Chinese and
Indian restaurants, including Man Ho [map],
which serves Cantonese and Peking dishes, and Anila's Authentic
Indian Restaurant [map],
which offers Kashmiri food in a wine bar setting.
If you’re after a unique taste of the Far East then head to
Chino Latino [map]
on Maid Marian Way, which has been named in a poll for the Top 50
restaurants in Europe. This contemporary eatery offers a fantastic
menu of modern Pan-Asian cuisine that combines flavours and foods
from Japan, Thailand, and China.
Ginza Teppanyaki [map]
on Mansfield Road in the Sherwood part of town offers teppanyaki
dishes cooked using old-fashioned Japanese methods right in front
of your eyes.
You can enjoy authentic Turkish cuisine at the Antalya Restaurant
[map],
which is located next to the Cornerhouse complex, while if plate
smashing and dancing is more your style, try Eviva Taverna [map],
which offers buffet style Greek food with traditional entertainment.
There are also a number of French eateries in the city centre, including
Cafe Rouge [map]
on Bridlesmith Gate, a bistro-style restaurant with a wide-ranging
menu.
Alternatively you could opt for Portuguese food at Nando's
[map]
at the Cornerhouse, which specialises in spicy peri-peri chicken
dishes.
Nottingham also offers diners a taste of the Caribbean at Mange
Caribbiene [map],
a swanky little eatery with a traditional menu that changes
regularly to reflect different Caribbean influences.
As Nottingham is the legendary home of Robin Hood it seems only
fitting that The Sheriff's Lodge [map]
on Canal Street should rustle up some medieval dishes for
you to enjoy. The menu includes the likes of homemade Sherwood Vegetable
Pottage, honeyed fowl with hot herby potatoes and old English salad,
and you can enjoy all this dressed up in traditional gear.
Last, but certainly not least, the city also has its fair share
of Italian restaurants such as San Remo [map]
on Mansfield Road, which serves all the pasta and pizza you
could wish for.
