Whether you want to sit back and watch some of the best
dancers in the business or fancy donning your own tap
shoes, pay a visit to one of the many dance venues in
Nottingham.
For classical ballet get along to the city’s Theatre Royal [map], which plays host to a
number of national touring productions throughout the
year.
Alternatively for contemporary dance, the Nottingham
Playhouse [map] is the place to be, as it stages a great selection of
experimental and well known dance productions.
Other theatres worth checking out if you want to watch
the action include the Lakeside Arts Centre [map] and Nottingham Arts Theatre [map].
There are also a number of dance schools, where
you can learn ballet, tap, modern, jazz and ballroom,
to name but a few.
For traditional ballet and tap try the Lorna Leighton
School of Dancing [map] in Gedling, or the Jill Gregory School of Dance
[map],
which also offers classes in modern, jazz, lyrical and
acrobatic dance.
If you fancy learning Cuban style dancing join up for salsa lessons at Santa Fe [map] at the Cornerhouse
