Budget Accommodation in Nottingham |
 |
 |
If you’re
on a tight budget, you’ll do okay in Nottingham
as the city has plenty of cheap and cheerful accommodation
so you can save your pennies for the sightseeing.
For those heading to the capital of the East Midlands
during the summer months, a room at one of the universities’
hall of residence may be the perfect money-saver. Both
the University of Nottingham [map] and Nottingham
Trent University [map] open up their accommodation
to the public during the holidays offering budget self-catering
rooms.
Nottingham also has its own Youth Hostel Association
hostel [map] situated in Nottingham Trent University student
residence on Wilton Road. Although it is only
open during the Christmas and summer holidays, it provides
comfortable, clean self-catering accommodation for backpackers. There are single en suite rooms here,
which are arranged in flats of six in four separate accommodation
blocks. A common room is also available.
Located in the heart of Nottingham city centre on Mansfield
Road is the Igloo Tourist Hostel [map], which
is a short walk from Victoria bus station. Facilities
here include a television room, showers, fully equipped
kitchen, lounge, dining room and games room.
If you fancy sleeping under the stars – well under
canvas to be more precise – why not stay on a campsite?
The nearest one to the city centre is Holme Pierrepont
Camping and Caravan Site [map], situated two miles away
at the National Water Sports Centre.
Finally, if you’re travelling as part of a group
and just can’t bear to be parted from your home
comforts why not check into the Travel Inn [map] on Goldsmith
Street. Here you are charged per room and not
per person, and with rooms for a family of four to share
it can work out a very reasonably priced place to stay.
However breakfast is not included in the price.
