If
you’re doing Nottingham on a budget then fear not,
you won’t have to go hungry because there are plenty
of cheap and cheerful eateries around the city centre.
Whether you fancy Chinese, Indian or plain old English,
there’s only one rule to getting a budget meal here
– and that’s timing. With great pre and post-theatre
specials and cheap lunches, you just have to make sure
you’re in the right place at the right time.
If you’re looking for a trendy place to eat that
doesn’t break the bank, head to Benton's Bar
Brasserie [map], a local favourite on Heathcote Street. Here you can enjoy special two or three course lunches
or early evening price busters in a relaxed atmosphere
with a friendly service.
For Chinese or Japanese food head to China One [map] on Wheeler Gate, which offers all the usual Far East favourites such as Cantonese sweet and
sour and Japanese noodles.
Alternatively, if Indian cuisine is more your style then City Spice
[map]
on Thurland Street has a good range of authentic dishes and many special
offers such as set-priced dinner menus.
If you don’t mind eating in the early evening or
late at night, Capocci [map] on Upper Parliament Street has some terrific pre and
post-theatre specials. This restaurant offers a wide choice
of continental-style food in a cosy atmosphere
with friendly service.
Finally, Nottingham has the usual array of fast-food diners,
including McDonalds [map] and Burger King [map],
which both offer inexpensive meal deals.
