ARt Galleries In Nottingham |

If you’re an art lover then you’ll feel right
at home in Nottingham as it has a wealth of classical
and contemporary art galleries for you to visit.
The city’s main gallery is the Nottingham Castle
Museum and Art Gallery [map],
which has an ever-changing list of exhibitions along with
some great permanent displays, including work by Lowry,
Delacroix and Rosetti.
Both universities also have art galleries; the Djanogly
Art Gallery [map] at the University of Nottingham’s Lakeside Arts
Centre plays host to a range of historical and contemporary
exhibitions including painting, photography and sculpture,
while the Bonington Gallery [map] at Nottingham Trent University houses a number
of temporary displays and stages dance presentations.
For contemporary works by some of the best local artists
in the business head to the Surface Gallery [map] on Mansfield Road, which provides an independent
space for Nottinghamshire artists, who may otherwise
be unable to display their work.
If you’re looking for something a little different
then why not visit The Art Exchange Gallery [map] on
Gregory Boulevard, which has exhibitions, workshops
and festivals delving into innovative and traditional African Caribbean art.
Other art galleries worth checking out during your stay
in the city include Neo Art [map], a contemporary art
gallery on George Street, and Angel Row Gallery [map] housed in the Central Library Building, which
displays arts and crafts.
