Nottingham
is easily accessible from all parts of the UK as it is
not far from junctions 25 and 26 of the M1 motorway. Once you arrive in this bustling city, you’ll find an array of car parks and on-street parking, which is all clearly signposted. There are also a number of park and ride schemes in place on routes into the city cente, including one just off junction 26 of the M1. As you’d expect with such a major route, the M1 can often get congested at peak times, particularly south of Nottingham where it merges with the M6 motorway. To keep up to date with traffic and travel news in and around Nottingham, listen to BBC Radio Nottingham. From the South: Take the M1 northbound to junction 25 and then take the A52 eastbound past Nottingham University. You should then take the A6200 and follow signs for the city centre. From the North: Take the M1 southbound to junction 26 and then join the A610 eastbound, which takes you into the centre of Nottingham From the North West (Manchester, Liverpool): Take the A6 past Stockport until you reach Chapel-en-le-Firth. You should then join the A623, which takes you across the beautiful Peak District, before joining the A619 and then the A617. You can then either join the M1 at junction 29 (following the directions, 'From the North', above) or take the A60 and follow signs for Nottingham city centre. From the West Midlands (Birmingham): Take the M42 eastbound and carry straight on to A42 past Nottingham East Midlands Airport. You can then either join the M1 at junction 24 (following the direction, From the South, above) or take the A453 through Long Eaton, following signs for the city centre. |
