If you’re
looking for a home from home experience during your stay
in East Anglia’s capital city then self-catering
accommodation might be right up your street.
There is a wealth of serviced apartments, quaint cottages
and traditional homes available to rent on a short-term
basis, giving you the freedom to come and go as you please.
For a central location try Norwich City Holidays [map],
a trendy and comfortable first floor one-bedroom apartment
over looking the city’s medieval quarter. The fully
furnished flat, complete with central heating,
sleeps two to four people. It has its own garage where
you can leave your car then take a short walk from the
castle, cathedral, shops and restaurants.
Also in the heart of the bustling city you’ll find
the Unthank Apartments [map] on York Street, six modern serviced flats set within a
converted Victorian house just five minutes walk from
the city centre. This stylish and luxurious establishment
consists of four one-bedroom and two studio apartments,
which all come with TV, DVD player and fully equipped
kitchen.
Hugely popular with visitors and just a ten minute walk
from the city centre is The Garden Flat [map] on Earlham Road, a spacious basement flat with a wonderful
garden view. There is room for up to four people and all the usual modern conveniences you’d expect.
This apartment is close to pubs, shops, restaurants and
Norwich’s major attractions.
If you want a quiet retreat away from the busy
city centre there are number of cottages and houses available
on short-term lease in Norwich’s beautiful countryside.
Dowagers Cottage [map] in the secluded gardens of the Old Rectory Hotel is definitely
worth checking out as it has a prime location just two
miles from the city centre but very close to the Norfolk
Broads. The house consists of a double bedroom and an open plan lounge/diner. Guests can make use of
the hotel’s pool and enjoy breakfast there too if
they can’t be bothered cooking.
Set in the heart of the beautiful Norfolk Broads in Aylsham, Cobblestones [map] is a single storey barn conversion, which has a woodburner
in the lounge. In the summer you can make use of the garden
and barbecue area, while all year round you can enjoy
the digital TV, video and microwave.
Other scenic cottages worth checking out include the Mill
House [map] in Hellesdon, a timber-framed house by the river, and Peninsula Cottages [map] in Wroxham, a selection of one, two, three and four bedroom
properties situated 12 miles from Norwich city centre.
