Gay Bars in Norwich |
 |
 |
Norwich’s
gay scene is establishing itself around the trendy bars
in the city centre, mainly around St Benedict’s
Street, Rose Lane and Ketts Hill.
One of the most popular gay pubs in the city is the Lounge
Café Wine Bar [map],
which is situated on St Benedict’s Street and has
all the right ingredients for a relaxed, fun-filled pre-club
drink.
Another sought-after haunt for the chilled-out young gay
crowd is The Castle [map],
which you’ll find on Spittalfields just off Ketts
Hill. This trendy pub has a huge beer garden for summertime
drinkers and very friendly staff.
If you’re looking for a more traditional watering
hole then check out The Woolpack [map] on Muspole Street, a colourful gay-friendly pub with a
homely atmosphere, while The Ten Bells [map] on St Benedict’s Street is dark and cosy, and often
has live bands playing.
Norwich’s choice of gay nightclubs is rather
limited as there is only one to choose from – The
Loft [map] on Rose Lane, which has been established for more than
30 years.
Despite the poor choice, The Loft is hugely popular with local gays and visitors alike, who flock here for
the cheesy pop music and drinks promotions. It’s
certainly worth a visit considering your only alternative
is an early night!
