Dance in Norwich |
 |
 |
Norwich has a number of theatres that showcase some of
the country’s top dance acts, as well as plenty
of dance schools so you can learn the steps too.
One of the city’s premier dance schools is the Central
School of Dancing and Performing Arts [map] on St Georges Street, where you can take part in classes
and workshops. Here you can learn ballet, jazz, tap,
modern and contemporary, to name but a few.
Those who fancy learning hip-shaking salsa should perhaps
head to the Norwich School of Salsa Dancing [map] on Bathurst Road, where you are taught all the
moves from professional salsa dancers.
Other dance schools also worth checking out include Miller
Dance Centre [map], Anglia Academy of Dance [map],
and Julie Seeley [map], which all offer ballet and tap, among other dances.
If you would rather watch someone else do all the hard
work then Norwich’s number one venue for touring
dance companies is the Theatre Royal [map].
This top class theatre on Theatre Street tends to be where
the West End musicals and international ballet
companies stop off when they visit town.
For a lively array of music and dance from around the
globe head to the University of East Anglia Studio
Theatre [map] or the Norwich Playhouse [map],
which play host to contemporary performances.
