Situated
in the heart of East Anglia, Norwich is easily accessible
from all parts of the UK thanks to the A47 and A11 trunk
roads, which connect the city to the motorway network. Once you arrive in this bustling city, you’ll find an array of pay and display car parks, which are open 24 hours, seven days a week. There is also short stay on-street parking on many of the city centre streets, which is all clearly signposted. As you’d expect with major routes into a city, the A-roads can often get congested at peak times, so to keep up to date with traffic and travel news in and around Norwich, listen to BBC Radio Norfolk. From the North: Take the M1 southbound to junction 22 and then join the A50 until you reach the A47 eastbound. Take this road past Leicester and Peterborough until you reach the A1074, which leads directly into the city centre. From the South: Take the M1 northbound to junction 32 and then take the A1(M) eastbound to junction 9. Continue on the A14 eastbound into East Anglia. You should then take the A11, which leads right into Norwich city centre. From the Midlands: (Birmingham area) Take the M6 southbound to junction 2 and then take the M69 to the end. Join the A47 and continue straight ahead until you reach the A1074 and then follow signs for the city centre. (Derby area) Take the A52 eastbound to the A17 and then continue straight ahead until the road joins the A47 at King’s Lynn. Take the A47 until the A1074 and follow signs for city centre. |
