scenic accommodation in N.W. London |

If the leafy London
suburbs of north west London are not far enough away from
the city life, then going further afield could be the
answer.
Beyond north west London is the district of Harrow, close
enough to London for day trips and evening excursions
but far enough away to make you feel like you’re
in the English countryside.
Staying further away from London also means that you can
use your car with ease to get to attractions and distractions
that are outside the capital.
The Tudor Lodge Hotel [map] is a converted 16th century farmhouse surrounded by two
acres of gardens which oozes charm. Many of the original
features have been restored so the hotel doesn’t
lose any of its 'old world' character.
Easily accessible from the M1 and M25, staying here will
allow you to enjoy the serenity of the area while being
less than an hour from central London.
Set in 40 acres of lawns and woodlands, the Grims Dyke
Hotel [map] is another country getaway not too far from London.
Now a grade two listed country house it used to be the
residence of W.S. Gilbert, the lyricist in the famous
Gilbert and Sullivan creative partnership of the late
19th and early 20th century.
Today the hotel is home to over 30 rooms, an excellent
restaurant and activities including musical events, woodland
walks and croquet but is also close to two golf courses
– all this just 10 miles from London.
