Budget Accommodation in N.W. London |
 |
 |
London is one of
the most expensive capitals in Europe, but if you’re
staying in north west London you should find somewhere
to stay that won’t break the bank.
The recently refurbished Golders Green Hotel [map],
promises a comfortable stay for its visitors all
year round, with an en suite bathroom, television and
phone in each room and a kosher breakfast in the
morning.
For more of a leafy London feel, the Hendon Park Hotel
[map] offers a hideaway from the city hustle. With views over
Hendon park itself and breakfast included in the price,
this affordable 12 room hotel is a lovely choice for those
on a budget.
Independent travellers who would rather spend their money
on London’s many enticements than on accommodation
could try the Millennium Lodge [map].
Prices here start from around £10 per night for
shared accommodation with 4 – 6 other people. The
hostel is open 24 hours a day so there’s no curfew
to cramp your style. The venue also organises free parties
for guests so even if you can’t go out you won’t
be down.
The Youth Hostelling Association has
two hostels in the area, including the three-star YHA
Hampstead Heath [map] and the four-star YHA
St Pancras [map] . Prices do vary for this type of accommodation
but the prices at YHA Hampstead Heath (the cheaper of
the two) start from £21 per person. Both are conveniently
located, non-smoking accommodations that welcome children
under three years old.
For a hostel with a youthful feel try St Christopher’s [map] Camden, another of the chain’s London venues.
This hostel is right in the thick of restaurants, bars
and a vibrant nightlife but also has its own bar, Belushi’s,
on the ground floor. Card swipe security, satellite TV
and breakfast are all part of the service.
