Universities in North London |
 |
 |
Education is
another aspect of life where London has a big impact
with a range of universities covering a multitude of
subjects.
And north London has a part to play in the capital’s
ability to house so many educational institutions, playing
host to four campuses.
The London Centre for Fashion Studies [map] attracts students from across the globe to study at the
north London campus near Angel tube station. Courses cover
all that budding fashion professionals need to know through
part time courses, degrees and postgraduate study programmes.
Probably the newest educational institution with a campus
in the north of the capital is London Metropolitan
University [map].
This university formed in August 2002, when the University
of North London and London Guildhall University merged
to create an institution flexible enough to offer subjects
as diverse as accounting, architecture, psychology and
Caribbean studies.
Giving a truly transatlantic feel to education in the
capital, the Richmond American University in London
[map] aims to provide quality courses through a system
which is American in origin but with a curriculum that
reflects the cultural interests of all its students. Located
close to Finsbury Park station, the north London campus
offerings include business administration, law and philosophy.
With over 11,000 students City University London is another significant higher education facility in the
capital. At its main campus in north central London, students
can study information science, human-computer interaction
design and much more, while staying at the north London
halls of residence at Walter Sickert Hall, N1.
