Sandwich Bars in North London |
 |
 |
At least once a
week most people rely on the humble sandwich to get them
through an afternoon of work or play – so where
in north London can you get your lunchtime fix.
Pret a Manger [map] in Islington will probably be a ditherer’s nightmare
as there’s just so much to choose from. Sandwiches
range from the ubiquitous egg mayo to the more exotic
White Crab, Crayfish & Avocado while the menu also
boasts baguettes, salads, sushi as well as desserts.
For sandwiches so fresh they’re made while you wait,
try the Subway [map] chain of sandwich bars.
In north London you’ll need to head to the High
Road in North Finchley to enjoy a foot long sub tailor-made
for your lunchtime needs.
Calling themselves London’s best value sandwich
chain Benjys [map] is another venue for your
bread based lunch. Although there are no stores in north
London at present you can get sandwich platters delivered
for you and some colleagues to enjoy together.
EAT [map] has been around for eight years and
prides itself on the freshness of their food with sandwiches
only having a one-day shelf life. For a lunchtime feed
you can chose from sandwiches, baguettes, wraps, sushi,
salads and pies. And vegetarians should find plenty on
the menu to keep their hunger at bay. The closest Eat
Shop to north London is at Cowcross Street close to Farringdon
Road tube station.
Sandwiches, baguettes and wraps are also available to
order at The Parsee [map],
the Indian restaurant on Highgate Hill close to the Whittington
Hospital.
