Gay Bars in North London |
 |
 |
If your aim for
the evening is to be taken to a gay bar then a trip to
north London should not disappoint.
As the UK’s only gay sports bar you would think
that Central Station [map] has quite a limited clientele,
however this Kings Cross venue has a lot to offer. In
fact, there are three floors of action, making this a
popular haunt for gay people in north London. One of the
things that make this venue so favoured is their multitude
of club nights including Gummi, Boot and Ain’t Misbehaving. Although most nights are
for men only they do have a Lick and Flick night
just for the girls.
King Edward VI [map] often plays host to Islington’s gay residents as
well as day-trippers. Just a stone’s throw away
from Islington’s new shopping centre, this pub is
usually packed with punters enjoying the friendly atmosphere.
Islington also hosts The Y Bar [map],
whose trendy vibe manages to attract a mixed crowd of
gay men and women throughout most of the week. This is
with the exception of Thursday when from 4:00pm onwards the
venue becomes a warm and inviting women-only hangout where
you’ll find ladies from across the lesbian to bi-curious
spectrum.
The Oak Bar [map] in Newington Green is another
popular gay haunt in north London. Although this venue
is split between being a club and a bar, the aim of a
night here is simply to have fun. This pub is frequented
by a mix of people attracted by the variety of club nights.
