Bed & Breakfast in Manchester |
 |
 |
Being the gateway
to the North West, Manchester has millions of visitors
each year and that’s why it has established a reputation
for having some of the best B&Bs in the business.
So if you want to stay in a traditional English bed and
breakfast with friendly faces at every turn and a fantastic
fry up in the morning, you won’t go far wrong in
Manchester.
For a taste of great old-fashioned city centre living
then get a room at the Waterloo Hotel [map] in the heart of the bustling tourist area. It’s
a B&B and a pub rolled into one – just like
they were in the good old days – with 21 bedrooms,
18 of which are en suite, and all equipped with a colour
TV.
There are more B&Bs in the Castlefield area of the
city, including the Commercial Hotel [map],
which is very close to the Science and Industry Museum
and Granada Studios.
If your looking for accommodation that is close to the
city centre but in a village of its own then try The
Verdene [map] or the Elton Bank Hotel [map] in the popular area of Rusholme. Both are just a stone’s
throw from the legendary Curry Mile and only five minutes
from the centre of Manchester. The Verdene is a family
run B&B with 13 bedrooms, seven en suite, while the
Elton Bank Hotel has nine rooms, three of which have en
suite facilities.
For a taste of the Far East then stay at the Broughton
Lodge B&B [map] in Salford, which has an on-site Oriental restaurant.
The Victorian house has three spacious bedrooms and plenty
of charm.
Also a short bus ride from the city centre is the Lindeth
B&B in Withington and the Oakhill B&B in
Blackely, which offer simple accommodation at reasonable
prices. Lindeth comprises of two bedrooms in a family
home, while Oakhill is a large house with four bedrooms
and secure car parking.
To experience the countryside surrounding Manchester then
why not stay in the glorious district of Saddleworth.
The stonebuilt Grains Bar Farm offers
25 bedrooms with spectacular views of the moors and is
just a five-minute drive from Uppermill, the central Saddleworth
village.
If you want to stay in the heart of Saddleworth then try Friars Lodge, an 18th century cottage,
situated in the tiny quaint village of Delph.
And if you prefer water sports to walking why not stay
at the Hollingworth Lake B&B in Rochdale,
which is situated next to the superb lake where you can
have a go at windsurfing or sailing.
