Manchester
has an extensive bus network operated by various commercial
operators, which provides a reliable service for commuters
and tourists alike.
In the city centre the main bus terminal can be found
on Piccadilly Gardens, with more than 300 services
to places including Eccles, Salford, Oldham, Rochdale,
Bolton, Bury, Middleton, Wigan and the Trafford Centre
shopping complex.

If you’re travelling to Manchester from further
a field then you should consider taking a National
Express coach, which stops at Manchester Central on Chorlton Street. This nationwide coach service provides
daily travel to Manchester from hundreds of destinations
in the UK, including direct journeys to Newcastle, Liverpool,
London and Glasgow.
In recent times National Express has invested over £3.5
million in the renovation of Chorlton Street coach station
to provide Manchester with a bright, modern complex with
the latest in passenger safety and comfort. The station
now boasts a heated waiting room with seating for over
200 customers, a cafeteria and arrival and departure screens.
Customer safety and security has also been improved, with
fully enclosed waiting areas including automatic doors
to separate customers from the coach arrival area, as
well as 24-hour security staff and CCTV.
There is also a ticket desk on site, where you can book
your coach journey, left luggage lockers and a taxi rank.
