Cinema In Liverpool |
 |
 |
There are quite a few cinemas in Liverpool, all showing
the latest Hollywood blockbusters and some independent
films.
The Odeon [map],
now the only mainstream cinema left in the city centre,
is situated just around the corner from Lime Street Station.
It has several screens providing a selection of the latest
film releases and plenty of children's movies during the
school holidays.
In the Penny Lane area of Liverpool, which has always
been an attraction for Beatles fans, there is a small ABC cinema [map] surrounded by a cluster of restaurants and bars. Although
it only boasts one screen there are plenty of seats, and
all new releases are shown here as films change on a weekly
basis.
If you would rather watch the old classics then believe
it or not the Philharmonic Hall [map] is your best bet, with its authentic 1930s picture house.
For a more modern complex on the outskirts of the city
centre, try the UGC Cinema [map] on the Edge Lane Retail Park, which has a number of screens
and games consoles in the foyer.
And if you’re looking for a cinema experience with
a difference, why not visit the tiny but popular Woolton
Picture House [map],
which is hidden away up a side street in Woolton Village.
It only has one screen and is very compact so it’s
almost like stepping into someone’s living room
rather than a cinema. However, it does have a selection
of new releases. |
