Leeds has its own
airport the Leeds Bradford International Airport [map].
The airport is easy to get to and is signposted on all
major roads over a wide area, including the M1 and M62
motorways and the Yorkshire section of the A1.
The airport has a wide range of facilities including a
number of well-known eateries and plenty of room to chill
out before your big journey. It also offers a hi-tech
check in area, nursing parents facilities, a new international
departure area incorporating the White Rose Cafe,
the Yorkshire Hero pub, a children's play area, duty free, Delice De France and a books
plus outlet.
The airport recently became one of the few airports within
the UK, and one of the few public places in Europe, to
provide the new wireless Internet facility, ‘Wi-Fi’.
The facility allows users to access the Internet without
the need for cables and without the hassle of changing
settings on their laptop or PDA. This gives passengers
the freedom to switch on and surf the net in any location
in the terminal, at any time.
Getting to and from the Airport...
Streamline, Telecabs and City Cabs are the three companies
that form the Airport Taxi Association (ATA). For
transfers to and from LBA we recommend you contact the
ATA.
ATA cabs are all fully licensed, black and white, Leeds
City Council hackney carriages, and are available for
hire from either the taxi rank situated immediately outside
the terminal building at LBA, or by pre-booking in advance
on one of the following telephone numbers. Fares are all
metered and are governed by Leeds City Council.
