 |
 |
Whether you want
to treat yourself to a slap-up meal or want to dine in
style and savour every mouthful with a loved one, there’s
plenty of restaurants worthy of your custom in Harrogate.
If you’re looking for a Michelin star class of restaurant, there’s several excellent venues
in the Harrogate area.
Head to The Devonshire Arms Country House Hotel [map],
Skipton, where head chef Michael Wignall is
on hand to conjure up many culinary delights.
You can choose between not one but two high-class restaurants.
First on the menu is The Burlington which is named
after an ancestor of the Duke of Devonshire. This fine
restaurant is adorned with polished antique tables, fine
china, crystal and silver and is divided into three rooms
with the conservatory overlooking a beautiful Italian
garden. The classical French and English cuisine is complimented
by a lengthy wine list with a choice of more than
1,200 bins.
In complete contrast the Devonshire Brasserie and Bar offers a contemporary dining experience with wonderful
art, and brightly coloured sofas.
The Yorke Arms [map], Ramsgill, is another
fine Michelin starred restaurant offering a delicate dining
experience for the palette. Choose from starters that
include seared tuna, red mullet and Quails egg, and red
pepper and courgette.
Meat eaters will be able to savour the Niddrdale lamb
pie consisting of faggots, braised lamb shank, horseradish
lentils, boulangere potatoes and Madeira sauce. While
vegetarians can enjoy the delicious wild mushrooms, roast
squash and spinach and rosemary gnocci.
