GO Takeaway in Glasgow

Takeaways in Glasgow When you’ve had a hard day checking out the best tourist sights on offer in Glasgow – and let’s face it, this could take some time – the last thing you’ll want to do is get all dressed up and head to a fancy restaurant. So it’s at times like these when the takeaway option is particularly welcome.

There’s plenty of cuisine to choose from in Glasgow that can either be phoned for and collected or delivered piping hot to your door. Whether you want something spicy from Asia or a delicious Italian or American dish, you’ll find lots of venues around the area.

Dino’s [map] is a really traditional Italian restaurant, that’s not to say it’s old fashioned but there’s something very “Sopranos” about the whole set up right down to the huge neon sign that announces the restaurant’s presence. Based at Sauchiehall Street, this excellent and authentic restaurant makes you feel like you’ve stepped straight into Rome or Milan. Takeaway is simple and easy to order and the menu consists of large pizzas with real Italian thin and crispy bases, and you can choose a special herb-infused dough too. There’s lots of pizzas and pasta to choose from and plenty for vegetarians too.

Get a filling snack when you’re on the move at Ichiban [map] on Queen Street, which is home to the once-humble noodle. Canteen-style dining means that you get served quickly and can fill up on some of the delicious meals on offer that include plenty of veggie options. Every dish offers great value for money too.

If you’re looking for simple food with fantastic flavours head to The Wee Curry Shop [map] on Buccleuch Street, that offers some particularly unusual Chinese and Asian dishes to eat in or takeaway. A particular speciality is the chilli garlic chicken.

One of Glasgow’s best Indian takeaways and restaurants is Harlequin which is Europe’s largest Indian restaurant group and has an excellent reputation across the West of Scotland. All Harlequin restaurants are different and have their own distinctive décor. The restaurant in Glasgow is called Spice of Life [map] and can be found at Argyle Street, and offers diners a range of excellent deals including pre-theatre dinners and free Sunday lunches for children. The takeaway has an extensive menu of cuisine spiced to your requirements.
