Gay Bars in Chester
|| With a large student
population and plenty of resident professionals, Chester
is developing a thriving gay community that is currently
focused on a few choice bars and nightclub in the city
Perhaps the most well known gay bar in the city, and certainly
the busiest, is Bar 6T9 [map] in the Broughton area of town. This venue is open until
2am every night except Tuesdays when it is closed and
Sundays when it only opens until 12.30pm.
Each night offers a different variety of entertainment,
from karaoke on Monday and disco DJs on Friday
and Saturday to cabaret with drag queen Doreen
If you would prefer to spend the evening (or afternoon)
drinking in one of Chester’s historic pubs then
head for the Liverpool Arms [map],
known as The L.A. to locals.
Situated on Northgate Street, this is Chester’s
only gay traditional public house and has been established
for nearly 20 years. Recently refurbished, this pub offers
good music, a friendly atmosphere and drinks promotions
throughout the week.
For something completely different why not step aboard
the Lady Diana Show Boat for Dynasty [map],
a monthly gay cruise on the River Dee with classic disco
music, cabaret, drag queens, good food and plenty of drink.
