Even after all your web-based research getting around London can still be problematic for many people and you’ll spot plenty of lost souls when you arrive in Central London.

To ease this problem there’s plenty of tourist centres, either privately run or government-run, to make sure you don’t stay lost for long.

The main travel centre for Central London is located at Regent Street, Piccadilly Circus, SW1 and is called The Britain and London Visitor Centre [map]. The centre is open seven days a week and can help with a variety of queries.

Friendly staff are on hand to find solutions to problems and – reflecting a multicultural society – speak many languages including French, Japanese, Italian, German, Dutch, Punjabi, Hindi and Russian.

If you are close to the city there’s a smaller tourist information centre at St Paul’s Churchyard. The London Information Centre [map], Leicester Square, is open every day from 8:00am-midnight and provides an invaluable service if you’re lost or simply trying to plan your next excursion.
