The Morning After in Central London |
 |
 |
It’s the
morning after the night before and hell probably looks
better than your reflection in the morning.
The answer is simple: head into the town and get yourself
a huge fry up. As long as it’s not a regular event
there’s no reason why a tasty sprinkling of grease
should hurt anybody. Alternatively, make yourself feel
better by enjoying a fresh salad or refreshing juice.
The days of grubby eateries are long gone and you can
definitely find a luxurious place to enjoy a top quality
grill.
Book a table at The Savoy Grill [map], The Savoy Hotel, Strand, for breakfast in style. Men
are advised to wear a jacket and tie so this is definitely
not the venue for you if you’re still half drunk
or unable to face a refreshing shower. If you’re
in good spirits enjoy a large breakfast or continental
alternative and peruse the Sunday papers in a relaxing
atmosphere.
Take the family for a Sunday nosh-up to Christopher’s
American Grill [map],
Wellington Street. This is a great place to enjoy some
loud and large US cuisine in a family-orientated environment.
The excellent children’s menu is bound to keep the
kids occupied and thus enabling you to recover in peace,
for a few minutes at least.
Sometimes the best way to recover from the dreaded hangover
is to get right back into the action and there’s
a range of pubs and bars that offer grills as well as
more traditional Sunday fayre such as roast beef and Yorkshire
puddings.
Try The Springbok Bar & Grill [map],
Bedford Street, for some quality drinks as well as a Sunday
menu brimming with tempting food. Alternatively choose
an ultra modern or stylish and traditional gastropub.
If you want to pay a little bit more for your Sunday lunch
this is definitely a favourable option.
Places such as The O’Conner Don [map], Marylebone
Lane, W1, and The Bedford [map],
Bedford Hill, lead the way in offering exceptional cuisine
in a friendly pub environment. Many gastropubs offer al
fresco dining when the weather is warm and this is a great
way to soak up that special London atmosphere.
If you’re looking for something a bit different
enjoy a South American spicy alternative at The Gaucho
Grill [map],
Bell Inn Yard, or have a wander around The City for Spanish,
Italian and Mediterranean cuisine to banish that sinking
feeling for good.
