Bed & Breakfast in Central London |
 |
 |
If you’re
looking for a comfortable base from which to carry out
some serious sight-seeing booking into a bed and breakfast
can offer an economical alternative to the expensive hotels
of Central London.
One of the best places to find a B&B is Bloomsbury.
The literary district of West Central London has a range
of good value traditional B&Bs offering a range of
comfortable facilities close to all the best attractions.
Try The Lonsdale Hotel [map] or The Cosmo Bedford House Hotel [map],
Bloomsbury Square, for a room with tea and coffee making
facilities and a TV. Traditional English breakfasts are
par for the course at many of these B&Bs; so prepare
to welcome a great feast of a fry-up the following morning.
Alternatively, lighter continental breakfasts are usually
available.
If you’re visiting London in a group, why not book
into one of Bloomsbury’s most famous hostels: The
Generator [map].
This massive 800-room hostel is home to backpackers from
across the globe and provides a great excuse to rub shoulders
with international tourists. Close to the Russell Square
tube. The hostel provides customers with a lively bar
and Internet access, as well as karaoke and a live DJ
on most nights.
Staying in Russell Square, the St Athan’s Hotel
[map] at Tavistock Place, offers affordable twin or double
accommodation in a central location.
As an alternative destination try EC3, which is the postcode
of London’s financial, banking and insurance district.
There are several great B&Bs in this fascinating area,
offering slightly cheaper accommodation to Bloomsbury.
Book into The Club Quarters [map],
Gracechurch Street, for tranquillity amongst the many
offices, churches and taverns of the area.
In Kings Cross B&B accommodation is plentiful
but visitors should be prepared to pay more for the location
as it’s so close to the station and tube station.
Go for a family-run hotel such as The Jesmond Dene
Hotel [map],
Argyle Street, Kings Cross, and The Alhambra Hotel
[map] on the same street.
One of the best B&B’s close to the station is
definitely The MacDonald Hotel [map].
This pretty family-run B&B offers exceptional value
for money considering its location and a warm and cosy
atmosphere.
B&Bs are so plentiful in Central London that agencies
have now been set up to find the perfect bed and breakfast
hotel to meet your needs.
