As the Welsh capital, Cardiff has plenty of public transport available linking it to towns around Wales and to major cities in England and Scotland.
If you’re travelling in Wales then operators such as First Cymru, Cardiff Bus Company and Stagecoach offer regular services into the city centre from places such as Penarth, Barry and Llandaff.
Those coming from further a field would perhaps be best checking out the services offered by National Express, which helps to connect Cardiff to other major UK cities.
Leaving from the Central Bus Station [map], which is located in close to the Millennium Stadium and opposite Cardiff Central Rail Station, National Express coaches travel directly to a number of cities, including Newcastle, Birmingham, London and Aberystwyth. You can also get connections to cities such as Manchester, Liverpool and Nottingham. There are also regular services from Cardiff to Heathrow and Gatwick airports.
Many of the Cardiff coach services have now been upgraded to Rapide specification, with on-board washrooms and light refreshments available.
For more information on National Express telephone (+44) 0900 80 80 80 or log on to www.gobycoach.com. Or for general information on bus services in and out of Cardiff telephone 0870 6082608 or visit www.traveline.org.uk. |
