Whether you want to unwind after a hard day of sightseeing or you’re keen to get in a party mood and watch as your evening comes alive, you’ll find plenty of great bars to suit your taste.
The trendiest Cambridge students and professionals tend to make a point of visiting Bar Ha!Ha! [map] which can be found on Trinity Street. There’s not much to laugh about as this place is cool with a capital “C” and don’t expect to be amused by the price of drinks and food either unless you’ve been saving up. For those who have some money to splash out this is certainly the place to be. Enjoy an excellent cocktail and some scrumptious cuisine. Alternatively, wait until Sunday which offers Happy Hour all evening and indulge in some serious drinking then.
If alcohol doesn’t float your boat you don’t have to be left out in the cold as one of the hottest places to be is Bar Citrus [map] on Napier Street. Here you’ll find a tempting array of freshly squeezed juices on offer and healthy eating options.
Those with an appetite for something continental will find plenty of choice at Café Rouge [map] on Bridge Street. With a menu brimming with delicious food and a friendly service this definitely beats propping up a bar. Particularly recommended is the dessert menu where every mouthful will transport you to a sweeter plane.
If this all sounds far too civilised then head to The Boat Race [map] for an evening of hard rock. This venue plays host to a different band every night of the week and you never quite know if you’ll be enjoying an evening of folk, indie, blues, rock, pop or electro-beat. One thing all of the acts have in common is, of course, bags of talent, and a visit to The Boat Race is a great way to spend an evening.
