Cambridge might only be small but it does have its own airport making it a particularly attractive option for a short break or business conference.
Cambridge City Airport [map] is located just three miles from Cambridge city centre just off the A14 on Newmarket Road.
Travellers can park in a specially reserved area in front of the terminal building. The car park is continually monitored and is a safe and secure place to leave your vehicle.
Business travellers might wish to take advantage of the Marshall Executive Aviation centre, which offers a luxurious waiting area, including separate meeting rooms, computer workstations, and Internet and email facilities.
There are several good hotels in close proximity to the airport including The Crowne Plaza [map] on Downing Street and the Holiday Inn [map] at Impington.
If you want to learn to fly a plane yourself there’s plenty of opportunity to do so at the nearby Cambridge Aero Club which is the longest established flight training organisation in the world, with more than 60 years experience in training pilots. |
